Lumio was founded in December 2020 with the vision to empower homeowners with energy independence by making power personal. To make this vision a reality Greg Butterfield, founder and CEO, orchestrated the merger of four dominant regional solar companies (Atlantic Key Energy, Lift Energy Solar, Smart Energy Today, and DECA), with a home technology company (Unyte Homes) to create a truly unique company with the foundation necessary to fundamentally change the home experience as we know it.

This unique combination of exceptional residential solar operations and advanced home-centered technology allowed Lumio to quickly become one the top three nation-wide, residential solar companies in the United States. And we’re just getting started.


Over last few decades we have seen massive growth in most economic sectors in the United States, and very little improvement in how we generate and transit the power needed to sustain this rapid pace of innovation.

In many states the power grid has not seen any improvements or updates since Ronald Reagan was in office. Power companies continue to generate the majority of the power sold through burning fossil fuels. We saw entire power grids fail during the record-setting low temperatures in the state of Texas last spring contributing to hundreds of lost lives. This does not need to happen, again.

  1. Home Builder partners: If you are currently operating the home builder space, introducing your new homeowners to solar just makes sense. A simple introduction to solar can save your homeowner thousands of dollars over the time lived in that home, and increase the resell value of the property.
  2. Lead Generation Partners: If you run or manage a call center, drive online traffic utilizing ads or social media adding solar into your communications is an easy way to leverage your platform.
