Lumio’s virtual interface technology provides the platform for a range of solutions to a number of different problems in the industrial plant and industrial automation settings. 

Clearly the CleanboardTM (see Medical) provides a simple and effective solution for data input to industrial environments where cleanliness or conversely dirt and grease are issues - the key and mouse area are also completely configurable by software allowing the creation of control panels and control boards with any layout on the same core board – the ultimate in customization. 

 

Likewise our touch screen - virtual touch - capability is ideally suited to the demands of these environments; our virtual layer is not sensitive to dirt or scratch, requires only a light touch with hand, gloves or stylus, it does not impede light transmission, modules can easily be mounted behind the glass, and as a digital solution does not suffer from temperature drift or aging.

Collaboration with a global manufacturing company has recently led us to a new

 
application of our Virtual Interface Technology. Current manufacturing line Error-proofing solutions generally solve many of the issues when an operator is required to pick different components from a rack – but not all.  These solutions are bulky, built onto a dedicated rack, can have low resolution and dead zones, they are complicated to reconfigure and often require downtime to do so.  Beyond this, they are expensive.  Lumio’s virtual interface technology overcomes all of these problems and is cost effective. We will soon be releasing further details on this solution and other safety related systems for the factory line.

•         Detection areas from 120cm X 100cm

•         Resolution higher than 4mm

•         Low component count and cost

•         Can be remote from the rack – i.e. on the factory ceiling
