Lumio provides a safe, reliable, and cost effective solution for hospital operating rooms, patient and nursing areas as well as clean rooms and other sterile environments.

In medical environments it is vital to keep the environment completely sterile. This is almost impossible to achieve with standard keyboards and interfaces collect dirt and germs and cannot be easily sterilized. An easily cleanable and sterilizable Cleanboard^TM deploying Lumio’s technology is the perfect solution. The surface of the Cleanboard^TMcan be configured to any layout, be it a generic keyboard layout or an application specific layout for a nurses station or a patient bedside entertainment system. As the technology can work on any flat surface with any material the keyboard can be sealed for cleaning using water, detergents or disinfectants and as the keyboard dose not have any moving parts it does not generate any contamination. The keyboard and Mouse can also be combined into one unit.

For Clean Rooms, traditional keyboards release particles every key- stroke, requiring the air to be cleaned, Lumio’s Cleanboard^TM has no moving parts and therefore completely by-passes this problem. In addition the Cleanboard^TM provides the ability to ‘drop-in’ customized key layouts for specific tasks or applications.

Beyond the Cleanboard^TM it is easy to see how medical devices can benefit from Lumio’s virtual interface technologies, enabling interfaces that can be easily cleaned and sterilized. This is particularly critical in areas of the Hospital were equipment is exposed to various fluids.
