What is the difference between CTM Technician and CTM ?

The CTM Technician's target audience is Lumio integrators and OEMs. The CTM's target audience are operators/clients/end users.

CTM End User includes limited system setting functionality, and is primarily designed to enable the end user to configure the system according to the computer's OS.

What is the Maximum USB cable length?

The standard for USB cables lengths is 5m.

For longer cables, use a cat.5 USB extender cable. For this configuration you need a power source at both ends of the USB extender cable in order to ensure a minimum voltage drop.

Where do I locate details about the PCB Controller serial number, Assembly version, Firmware version and Bootloader version?

Open CTM> About. The PCB Controller serial number and firmware version details are displayed.

How do I clean the Lumio touch screen?

Clean the Touch Screen glass panel with the following cleaning agents of any respectable manufacturer:

Isopropyl 99%

Isopropanol – IPA

How do I use the Lumio Touch Screen with Linux?

For Quad Sensor systems (Firmware v2.4.X.X and up) and Dual Sensor systems (Firmware v1.4.X.X and up):

For Quad Sensor systems (Firmware v2.1.9.X) and Dual Sensor systems (Firmware v1.2.6.X):

The PCB controller supports single touch, HID pointer ("ProDrive") mode when a LINUX OS is in use.

Requirements:

The latest PCB Controller  - supports the latest official Firmware available such as: Fast Dual/Quad Sensor USB Controller, Rev 5.0 and up.

Firmware versions v1.2.6 or v2.1.9.

Currently the Crystal Touch Manager Technician (CTM) is a Windows based application. Therefore, the PCB Controller setup, configuration and calibration is performed with CTM, using a WIN OS such as WIN XP / WIN 7.

To configure the Lumio Touch Screen to work on a LINUX platform:

1. Install the C.T.M. application on a WIN OS platform.

2. Plug in the USB connector.

3. Login in to CTM.

4. Navigate to: Administrator > Functional Settings: Select Back and Yes to save settings.

5. Select the ProDrive radio button in the Protocol field.

6. Configure the following values in the Communication field: Select the Operating System

    as Linux from the Touch Type field drop-down menu.

7. Configure the Touch Type as Single Touch.

8. Configure the Communications as Mouse.

9. Configure the Identification as Manual.

How do I use the Lumio Touch Screen with MAC OS?

For Quad Sensor systems (Firmware v2.4.X.X and up) and Dual Sensor systems (Firmware v1.4.X.X and up):

For Quad Sensor systems (Firmware v2.1.9.X) and Dual Sensor systems (Firmware v1.2.6.X):

The PCB controller supports single touch, mouse mode "out of the box" when a MAC OS is in use.

Requirements:

The latest PCB controller equipped with the latest official Firmware available such as: Fast Dual / Quad Sensor USB Controller, Rev 5.0 and up.

Firmware versions v1.2.6 or v2.1.9.

Currently the Crystal Touch Manager (CTM) is a Windows based application. Therefore, the PCB Controller setup, configuration and calibration is performed with CTM., using a WIN OS such as WIN XP / WIN 7.

If required, workaround the "offset" with the CTM Gain parameter.

To configure a Lumio Touch Screen on a MAC platform:

1. Install the C.T.M. application on a WIN OS platform.

2. Plug in the USB connector.

3. Login in to CTM.

4. Calibrate the system (ensure that both the boundaries and PCB controller are configured correctly).

5. Check the calibration (make sure you have no offset; else try to calibrate the system again).

6. After calibration, log in again to the CTM application.Select Back and Yes to save settings.

7. Navigate to: Administrator>Functional Settings:

8. Select the Mac OS radio button in the Protocol field (the Gain tab is activated. The Gain tab is an offset

    to compensate between the manner that the MAC OS and the WIN OS refers to the monitor itself.

    Usually, there is no need to change the default Gain value).

9. Configure the following values in the Communication field:

10. Configure the Touch Type as Single Touch.

11. Configure the Communications as Mouse.

12. Configure the Identification as Manual.

12. Log out from CTM.

13. Unplug the USB from the PC (WIN) and connect it to the MAC.

14. Check the touch screen performance.

     If there is an offset issue when using the MAC > login to CTM > change the Gain setting using CTM >

     unplug the USB from the MAC > plug the USB back to the WIN platform>change the Gain settings as

     part of a "trial and error" test method.

The Touch Screen does not work in Windows 7

The following solutions are available:

1. Ensure that the Microsoft Touch functions are enabled:

    a. Navigate to Start > Control Panel > Pen and Touch.

       The Pen and Touch window opens.

    b. Select the Touch tab.

       The Touch Pane opens.

    c.  Enable "Use your finger as an input device" and "Enable multi-touch gestures and inking" options.

2. Ensure that "Touch Input" is available.

    a. Ensure that the USB cable is connected to the PC.

    b. Navigate to > Desktop > My Computer icon.

    c. Right-click on the My Computer icon.

        The My Computer menu opens.

    d. Select Properties.

        The Properties window opens. Ensure that the Touch Input Available message is displayed in

        the Pen and Touch field of the System pane.

3. If the "Touch Input Available" message is not displayed:

    a. Navigate to My Computer > Right-click > Manage > Services and Applications > Services.

        The Services window opens.

    b. Select the Extended tab in the bottom of the Services window.

    c. Select the Tablet PC Input Service field from the Services list.

        Ensure that Startup Type of the Tablet PC Input Service field is set to Automatic

        (If necessary select and change from Manual to Automatic).

    d. Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable.

What is the Lumio USB vendor ID and how do I find it?

The Lumio USB vendor ID is 202E. The Lumio ID can be found in the Device Manager of Windows:
