Lumio's Focus

Lumio develops patents, and sells intelligent optical modules for data input and output, based around a core suite of virtual interface technologies. Lumio’s focus is in empowering OEMs, ODMs and Intergators to integrate low cost, low overhead, and low foot print components that enable any flat surface to become interactive, employing a range of unique Human Machine Interface (HMI) solutions.

History

Lumio was initially well known for developing and licensing the 1st virtual laser keyboard (The VKB). Introduced first as a prototype at CeBIT in 2002, the product was launched in late 2004 with Bluetooth and was voted "Best Innovation" 2007 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Lumio then turned its’ focus to optical touch screen products, developing an extensive patent and IP portfolio.

Current activity

Since 2008, Lumio has been successfully delivering thousands of optical multi-touch screen solutions to satisfied customers. We offer a range of Optical Touch Products to suit sizes small and large, all offering true multi touch capability.

Lumio’s extensive patent portfolio and designs are being utilized in various applications such as automotive, white goods, consumer electronics, industrial automation and touch screen applications, providing our clients with tremendous value added in terms of component cost and stock code reduction, reduced design cycles together with greater design flexibility, and greater performance over competitive solutions (where available).

Whether replacing competitive touch screen solutions, electro-mechanical buttons or simply bringing a touch response to otherwise inert surfaces, Lumio is providing a breakthrough in HMI with low cost user-proof, software configurable control surfaces.
